Picking up Coral from BYU I and Visiting my Parents

We had so much fun visiting with my mom and dad! We loved going bowling and shopping. And then driving together (with my mom) up to Idaho, was so much fun! Once we were there, we loved watching conference, eating roast and potatoes, shopping for clothes, going to Relief Society, watching The Young Victoria, eating at Ming's Chinese restaurant, getting Reed's ice cream, and just being together!! Thank you for everything! We celebrated Mikaya's actual birthday while in Idaho. What a fun day! Cute outfits my mom and dad bought Avery and Mikaya.

Gardening after soccer games

Avery and Mikaya did some gardening after their soccer games on Saturday. We are going to try to grow some veggies again this year. So far, we've only been able to grow pumpkins, and that was by accident. We threw the seeds in the dirt while carving pumpkins, and the plants came up months later. We didn't even know what kind of squash we were growing, until they started to resemble pumpkins.

Easter

Avery and I tried out the Ukrainian egg dying kit that Sandi got for our family a few years ago. We used a candle and melted beeswax in a metal tool, and with the same tool drew the design onto the egg. It will go well with Patricia Polacco's book Rechenka's Eggs, about these kinds of eggs. Patricia Polaaco was one of my "Authors of the Week", when I taught 2nd grade. Mikaya also had fun making some beautiful eggs with another dye kit.

Mikaya's Family Birthday Dinner Party

We will be in Idaho, picking up Coral from BYU Idaho and visiting my parents, on Mikaya's real birthday, so we have been celebrating early. Mikaya requested her dad's homemade bread, sausage, apples (some peeled, some not), and milk to drink for her family birthday dinner. For desert, she chose brownies and ice cream. I think she was very happy about the fact that she didn't "have" to eat something she didn't like, which happens on a regular basis at dinner. She is such a sweet and caring girl! We love her so much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKAYA!!!

Mikaya's Princess Birthday Party

We played games, made necklaces, ate brownies & ice cream, and played more and more "princess" games!
