Mother's Day

Everyone helped out on Mother's Day. Curtis and Coral made all the food and cleaned up everything, too!! Coral even recruited Avery and Mikaya to help out. The best part was spending time together as a family. Thank you for a wonderful Mother's Day! I love you guys!

Disneyland!

My three favorite places on earth are Disneyland, the temple, and the beach. With the normal daily stresses of life, it's fun to unwind a bit at these relaxation spots! We missed Coral, who was at school that day.

Matching shoes! Hopefully, Avery will always be proud of her parents even when we act goofy like this......

This one's for Avery's two grandma's who love the piano! Maybe we will be lucky enough to have her take after them and love the piano, too! This was a modern "player piano" at Disneyland.

I rarely catch Mikaya's "real" smile. She usually shows us her "say cheese" smile for the camera, which is so cute and usually makes us laugh. But, her favorite ride, Winnie the Pooh, brought out the real deal. Why the Winnie the Pooh ride is her absolute favorite, we can't figure out, but she loves it! I'm so glad to have this sweet picture!

Avery screamed the whole time on the roller coaster ride in Micky's Toon Town. She also made sure everyone put their arms in the air every time!

Update on Coral

Coral has been very busy this year! She made the varsity gymnastic team again this year! Her scores on bars and vault, (her events), are awesome! She works very hard and we are really proud of her. She just got back from a youth trip to General Conference. They left here with a few tickets and manage to secure 70 something (adults included) tickets and made it in to every session! They had a blast!

It seems we got more video than pictures when Paul came to visit, but here are a few. They had fun going to church with grandpa Paul, reading books, making airplanes, and making books. The next Sunday, they asked where Grandpa Paul was. They said, "Isn't grandpa going to church with us today?" We also got to skipe with Grandma Sandi while he was here. That is always so much fun!

Avery lost her first tooth! She is SOOOO excited about it!

Speaking of teeth.....here is Mikaya showing her pearly whites for a laugh on her birthday. We love our sweet and funny Mikaya! Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Mikaya wanted a pink butterfly cake. So to keep with the theme, we played "Pin the polka dots on the butterfly". Here is Curtis being a good sport!

Mikaya loved all of her presents. Aren't grandparents just the best thing ever?!!

Mikaya enjoying her birthday dinner in style! (Yaki Soba her favorite!)

Bath time, another favorite!

Earthquake or a Giant?

As we were eating Easter dinner, that Curtis had wonderfully prepared, we felt something. I asked Curtis, "Is that an earthquake?" As it continued to get stronger, we got under the table and door frames, as it was rattling the pictures and cabinets. Avery said in a slightly worried voice, "Is that a giant?" (By reason of deduction she had come up with the most practical reason why the ground would be shaking like that.) Mikaya calmed Avery down and told her that everything would be o.k.

*Later Mikaya claimed that she had "saved Avery" from the earthquake, because she had calmed her down.

Enjoying the treats and fun sticker books that G&G Sandi & Paul and G&G Minton gave the girls for Easter.

Avery built a Lego house during one of the Conference sessions.

Decorating Easter eggs!

Having Family Home Evening in a fort.

Taking a walk to a friend's house for brownies and ice cream.

Finding treasures on the way!

Avery read her first book, Ten Apples Up on Top, by Dr. Seuss, in February(2010)! Nice work Avery!

Sunday, December 6, 2009

Decorating the tree and watching Elf.

Watching the ice skaters. The "ice" was a little more on the liquid side and when anyone fell they got soaked.

Watch out for Mikaya!

Turkey legs!

We had a blast at our good friends The Blattman's for Thanksgiving. We were glad Drew could join us again this year. Jessica had games for the kids to play. We also had time to play a few games and enjoy each other's company!

Disneyland

Disneyland pretty much is the happiest place on earth, even with slightly sick kids. We had some free tickets and an almost free hotel stay, so we took off to Disneyland, even though everyone wasn't feeling the best. Oh course, we had a blast anyway and loved every minute of it!

Curtis and I took Avery down Splash Mountain, while Coral watched Mikaya. Avery was very brave, but didn't want to go again!

Avery and Mikaya were lucky enough to meet their favorite princesses. Mikaya is smiling how she thinks Belle would smile because Belle is her favorite.

Avery's favorite princess, Cinderella. I think she's a little stunned about the whole thing!

Avery was ecstatic about going into Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Avery and Mikaya found some pretty cool places to hide in the hotel room. The wardrobe was even a slight bit "Narnia" like.
